During the Great Galactic War theresolved to seize due to their military manufacturing plants and strategic location close to the Core Worlds. The immediately sent soldiers to prevent that from happening. As the Great Galactic War continued and the ’s control continued to spread, the strained began removing forces from for redeployment to more important conflicts. This continued until the Treaty of was signed.
Thebase designated 11A had been established on and was still under control until the Treaty was signed. The commander of the base, General Buryn was assigned to leave the base with his troops as per the terms of the Treaty. General Buryn wanted to fulfill his orders, however the Jedi Fortris Gall insisted that the team that was held captive by the Sith, Demolitions Squad 419, had to be freed first. The Jedi traveled to the Troida Military Workshop, where the soldiers were held hostage, without the permission of Buryn. Buryn chose to remain on planet after the Treaty’s enforced deadline and waited for Fortis. Master Orgus soon joined the General and Jedi Fortis, to convince them both to leave the planet in an attempt to prevent further battles with the Sith, and to begin following the terms of the Treaty.
Following the treaty and the beginning of the Cold War, thewas forced to officially end its support for . However a small underground force was left on the planet to aid in a resistance against the remaining . However, most Balmorrans shared the view that they had been abandoned by the . Surprisingly, the remaining underground resistance prevented the from ever taking complete control of the planet. A number of years after the treaty was signed, with the fragile brokered peace between the remaining, the began reintroducing forces to the planet and while the Balmorrans were receptive to the assistance, their resentment of being abandoned in the past remained. History – Imperial Era
The planet was once the headquarters of Rigorra the Hutt. It was a planet where the Techno Union produced B1 battle droids until shortly before the Clone Wars. The production of battle droids then seemingly ceased, but secretly continued on Outer Rim Territories factory worlds such as Geonosis. In 21 BBYseceded from the and was given a fleet of Lucrehulk-class battleships to defend it. was also the headquarters of Balmorran Arms, which manufactured SD-6 Hulk infantry droids.
During the war, a naval battle occurred near the Kaliida Nebula, located near the system, on theRun. The strike force involved had a nasty run-in with a flock of Neebray mantas that nested in the area.
Under the New Order, Governor Beltane ran the planet and oversaw production. During the reign of Galactic Emperor Palpatine, the Balmorrans manufactured weapons for the Imperial Army with strong ties to Kuat Drive Yards, and were the primary builders of the AT-ST walker.
The Balmorrans longed for independence from the Galactic, wishing for a free market to sell their renowned weapons technology on. During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance led a small stealthsquadron through the narrow canyons surrounding the construction yards—although there was mutual good feeling between the Rebel Alliance and the natives of , liberation would have been impossible, as the planet was well defended, and isolated from the other planets held by the Rebels.
Instead, they launched a hit-and-run sabotage effort, using the cover of the night to go undetected byImperial sensor arrays. It was not until Luke Skywalker and Rogue Squadron had demolished much of the weaponry under construction in the yards that any kind of serious retaliation force was launched.
The planet was liberated by the Newfollowing the Battle of Endor, and it remained independent for five years. was brought back into Imperial service during the Emperor’s reappearance, but following Palpatine’s supposed death near Da Soocha, the rebellious Balmorrans began arming the New .
In retaliation, the planet was attacked by a force under the command of Military Executor Sedriss, includingDroids and SD-9 battle droids. After suffering surprising losses at the hands of the SD-10 battle droids and new Viper Automatons, Sedriss called off his attack in exchange for a shipment of the molecularly-shielded droids.
Few places in the galaxy have seen the peace promised by the Treaty ofso thoroughly cast aside as the world of . Fiercely independent, this long time ally of the has led the galaxy in advanced droid and weapons manufacturing. Now ’s workers live and suffer under a full Imperial occupation force.
Soon afterwas colonized, in the infancy of the , it became a haven for some of the most prolific manufacturers of fearsome weaponry and battle droids in the known galaxy. These terrible military assets, combined with the planet’s strategic location close to the Core Worlds, kept in a constant state of war. Setting its sights on the weapons of war manufactured on the planet, the resolved to take , and in answer the sent soldiers to aid the Balmorrans in their fight to preserve their independence.
As the war tore on and continued to spread, the strainedcould no longer afford to spend its forces on . Wave after wave of troops were pulled off of the world for redeployment elsewhere in the galaxy, until finally, in accordance with the Treaty of , the was forced to officially end its support of . A small, underground force was left on the planet to aid their Resistance, but the Balmorrans knew the truth of it; they had been abandoned. Even so, the was still unable to take full control of .
Now, years after the treaty, a regrouped and rebuiltis testing the limits of their fragile peace with the , sending back the reinforcements they had pulled off the planet years before. Although the Balmorrans are accepting of help, they do little to hide their resentment at having been abandoned years before. Meanwhile, the is escalating their presence on the planet, determined to claim ’s weapons, and put an end to this conflict once and for all.
