I have a question about the classes...is there only going to be the 4?

I say 4, since that's how many there are :
Jedi/Sith - one class. I know they keep saying there's 4 types of Jedi or Sith, but they are prey much all the same, apart from a few differing powers, but they are all 'light sabre wielders'.
Trooper/Agent - Again, the same thing, one good, one bad...with a few differing powers.
Bounty Hunter
And then Smuggler
That's 4!
Now, personally, I think that's very, very limited. I am from the old school days of SWG, where there was once over 30 classes.
Don't get me wrong, I feelthis is going to be one of the best SW games ever...but I'm a little disappointed that they is so little choice, and also, while I'm on the subject, why are classes pre-destined?
Again, in the original SWG, you started as a player, then you progressed into what ever class you wanted to follow AND you can change class any time you wanted.
To see how much work has gone into this game, its goingto be truly epic, but just this thing about the limited classes I find...annoying.

There are 8 classes per faction, since the advanced classes are not just specializations, but, in fact, classes. Each faction mirrors each other. The classes are as follows:Republic/Empire
Vanguard/Powertech -> Ranged tank/DPSCommando/Mercenary -> Ranged healing/DPS
Scoundrel/Operative -> Ranged Healing/DPSGunslinger/Sniper -> Ranged pure DPS
Jedi Guardian/Sith Juggernaut -> Melee Tank/DPSJedi Sentinel/Sith Maurader -> Melee pure DPS
Jedi Sage/Sith Sorcerer -> Ranged Healing/DPSJedi Shadow/Sith Assassin -> Melee Tank/DPS

For launch, there will only be four, however, you must consider that each class has two advanced class options, each are very different, so it's kind of like having eight classes, though, admittedly, it's not exactly the same, but hang in there, I'm sure they'll add more classes in as the game progresses.

Loving the guides, keep them coming.
I think that the Class area is nicely done – easy to use and I am interested to see how it grows up. #SWTOR
